We’ll be hearing Boxcar Bible stories, creating Caboose crafts, visiting the Clickety Clack cinema, playing Train games, and even snacking to a Railroad Rhythm! Aimed for children aged 5 – 11, this exciting event will be at the station at the International Lutheran Student Centre, from 10am to 2pm. Registration forms will be available at St. Anne’s Lutheran Church, and questions can be addressed to your conductor, Gigi Werner Winslow (020 7794 6148 or wernerwinslows@btinternet.com). All children welcome! St. Anne's is urgently looking for volunteer vergers. The verger would be responsible for the cleanliness and good order of the Church of St. Anne and St. Agnes, in particular in preparing the church for concerts and worship services, and would work as part of the team. It is possible that if more than one person was willing to fulfil this function, that they would be responsible for preparing for a particular weekly event, say the Monday Lunchtime Concert, or one of the Sunday services. If you think you might be interested in offering a few hours a week to St. Anne's please speak to George Cienciala at the church, or by telephone at 020-7606 4986, or by email to admin@StAnnesLutheranChurch.org. Also we are just beginning the process of replacing our beloved Administrator, George Cienciala, as he plans his 'retirement' in Austria. For details of the job, please contact either George (admin@stanneslutheranchurch.org) or Pastor Jana (pastor@stanneslutheranchurch.org). We are hoping to appoint in November, to enable the new Administrator to take up the post in January, and work alongside George for 2 months.
Divine Dishes, the St Anne's Communities cookbook , has already proved very popular, but please do continue to buy it. Prices are: £6.00 for 1, £15.00 for 3 and £30.00 for 7 - all profits to St Anne's Communities.
THE GIFT OF FLOWERS TO ST. ANNE'S is a wonderful way to honour a loved one or to celebrate a special occasion! A donation of £30 covers the cost of the flowers that grace our church for worship. We now have dates available from October onwards. Also - if you are able to take on the responsibility of arranging the flowers occasionally, please talk to either Pastor Jana or Angela Gawlikowski. IF YOU KNOW OF SOMEONE WHO IS IN NEED OF PASTORAL CARE please contact St. Anne's during the week (020) 7606 4986 and speak to one of our staff or e-mail pastor@stanneslutheranchurch.org And finally, a Prayer for Reformation from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America website. Dear God, We are a church of the Reformation. So why is it so difficult to reform and change? Bless us so that we might reform our leadership so that our congregation can grow. Heal our grief about the changes in our community and congregation, so that we might see, use, and celebrate your created gifts in our life, world and church. Inspire even more small groups to be born in our church. Deepen our commitment to follow Jesus in our life together. In Jesus' name. Amen
