Reply with quote | #1 | The striking thing about the forums is that there are very few posts, but lots of silent readers. People do actually come here and read what is published. If St Anne's wants something read, then put it here. Is this ok ? Is something preventing people responding to the posts ? Do they wish to avoid registration ? If you could respond without registering, would you do so ? Or are the sermons (for example) so well formed and intrinsically complete that they invite no further comment ? Should we be more controversial ? Maybe there are subjects that we have missed out on that we should be addressing ? I'm guessing that the readers are based all around the world - maybe there are some topics that will interest them that we have not considered ? Well, of course, the final possibility is that we are only talking to computer 'bots' (robot). If you are reading this and you're not a bot, please let me know. Thanks. Martin.

Reply with quote | #2 | Dear Martin,
Greetings from Ireland! I don't visit the St. Anne's website very often, but I particularly like the Forums because they are where I can find the really "on the ground" information about what congregation and community members are thinking and feeling about their experience of St. Anne's right now. Just as an aside, is there any way the publish LUTHERANS IN LONDON on the website somewhere? I seem to have stopped getting it in the post except perhaps once a year, and I love the snapshot it gives of a particular period (like a month or two months). Life is Ireland is great, but I do miss my friends from the UK, ESPECIALLY my St. Anne's "family". Please send my love and best wishes to everyone there.

Reply with quote | #4 | Yes - excellent to hear from you, Sarah! ~incidentally, lots of interesting Lutheran-related things beginning to happen in Ireland - see http://www.lutheran-ireland.org/Site/index.html but there are also now services in Latvian and Estonian, and the beginnings of a Lutheran Council. So - 32 people have accessed this particular topic, but only Ms SB Foyle and I have responded. Does that matter?

Reply with quote | #5 | Hi Sarah
It's nice to hear from you! I hope you are doing well! We have Lutherans in London posted in PDF format on the Lutherans in London page. The PDF link is just at the top of the page as LiL March 2008. This is where you can always find the current LiL.
take care Molly |

Reply with quote | #6 | I have oversight of the Latvian section of this forum but on the whole all I need to oversee is the increasing number of accesses with almost no postings. I received a pleasant surpise to day to see a relatively recent posting in repsonse to a thread that went cold 2 years ago.
We have a guest book in the secular Latvian community website for the UK with no requirement to register. There have been a number of inappropriate postings there so the assumption is that these types of readers are among those who 'read' postings in this forum but do not wish to register. |
